Incident Command

In responding to a hazardous material release, the ‘Incident Command System’ is required by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (q). Emergencies of all kinds require an informed and competent individual in charge. An IC is not only required to have 16 hours of operations level training, but also must have additional knowledge and
skills as described in (q)(6)(v).

The IC training will focus on recognizing and evaluating a hazardous material incident, directing and organizing the response team, protecting all persons and environment involved, and learn how to utilize available resources.
